Hey guys, Coach Julien here. In this video, I’m going to show you how to save on your Telecom bill, going from 59.73 to 45.94. Here’s how you do it.
First step, you go to this website called planhub.ca. This site compares cell phone and internet plans. For mobile, you click mobile, click search, and specify what you want. You can sort by recommended or cheapest, and here you have all the offers. There are a few important pieces of information here – monthly charge, upfront one-time fee, and the tool calculates the total cash for two years. Don’t forget to read the small print because you can find some special codes here, like a referral code giving you a bonus of 25. So make sure you read the small print because there are a lot of little things that are cool.
Here, I look at the reviews because it’s nice to go for the cheapest plan, but you also want a certain level of service. Anyways, this is what I look for; reviews are very important to me, and I will look at the number of reviews and actually go and read reviews. You can also change filters, like if you want more data or want to buy a new phone, play around with these filters, and it’ll generate the information for you. I love this site; I use them regularly to shop around for Internet and mobile plans. Sometimes I need to change because I’m moving, or my cell phone plan is coming due, but sometimes I just want to see if there are deals out there that could be interesting and use those deals to negotiate with my existing provider. So nothing more convincing than showing up with pricing from one of their competitors and saying, “Look, these guys are giving me like 20 gigs for 35 bucks a month, can you match that or do something better? Can you give me like 30 gigs for the same price?” Use this tool to negotiate with your existing provider.
That was for cell phones, but you can also do the same thing with the internet. Click search, choose speed, and my criteria are mainly price, and I don’t need a home phone. Enter the postal code, and the platform will show you all the different providers offering service in your location. I discovered a bunch of companies I didn’t know about. We all know the most popular ones like Bell, Telus, Rogers, and these big guys, but little players don’t have huge advertising budgets. Yet, what they do is resell Bell, Videotron, and all that, so you’re basically getting the same speed but paying less. The service might be different because each one has a different call center and is set up differently. I ended up going with these guys, b2b2c, and I’ve been with them for three years. The bill has actually gone down because at one point, I saw a deal using the same platform planhub.ca, and I found something cheaper. I took a screenshot, sent it to these guys, and they called me and said, “Look, we’re actually going to give you a lower price.” So you can use this to find the best deal, use that, send it to your current provider, say, “Are you going to match me, or I’m going to take off?” Great tool to use, Plan Hub.
So whether you’re shopping around or you want to see if there are better deals out there and use that to negotiate with your existing provider, super, super tool. So between my cell phone bill and my internet bill, I saved 25 bucks a month. Over a year, that’s 300 bucks. There you have it, guys. Hope you found it useful. If you did, give it a nice thumbs up and subscribe to my channel because I got more stuff coming your way. Thanks for watching today, guys, and we’ll see you real soon. Thank you.
